Mission: The Mental Health Association of San Mateo County (MHA), a nonprofit organization, enriches quality of life, restores dignity, and reduces homelessness, particularly for those affected by mental illness and HIV/AIDS. MHA strengthens hope by providing shelter, support and opportunities for socialization.
Results: Per year: nearly 6000 nights of emergency shelter provided, nearly 2000 hours of occupational therapy provided, 9000 hours of support services, 8000 hours of social, recreational, and educational hours provided.

Programs: Community support programs: mha provided 8,118 units of service of social and recreational activities through the agency's county-wide friendship center program and more than 1,000 of individualized support for isolated individuals living with mental illness through the community friend program
housing assistance: between july 1, 2013 and june 30, 2014 mha provided 550,000 units of intensive case management and community support for individuals living with mental illness as well as more than 500 hours of occupational therapy providing daily living skills assessments and training. Mha also provided 5,116 nights of emergency shelter, and over 15,500 units of housing assistance services to individuals living with hiv/aids to ensure they become and remain safely housed.
housing properties: mha continues to provide safe, decent, affordable housing for 103 individuals who were homeless and are living with mental illness.
belmont: mha staff provided more than 25,000 units of intensive services to residents including case management, wellness activities, medical case management, occupational therapy, and nutrition groups and activities.
