Mission: To establish and maintain relationships that generate philanthropic support to enhance the passavant memorial area hospital association's ability to provide excellence in health care.
Programs: The foundation serves to connect the hospital with donors and to secure funding for mission-critical priorities. The foundation is building a strong community tradition for financial support to meet local healthcare needs and demonstrating direct benefits. Donations are used to make improvements across all hospital departments, and ultimately, result in greater patient satisfaction. Donations also allow for the purchase of the latest medical technology. Donor gifts were made two ways unrestricted or restricted. The largest gift was from claribel cully's estate for $403,060. 58 and was restricted to the permanent endowment. Instructions in miss cully's last will and testament stated only the annual interest earned may be used for general hospital operations. Of the restricted gifts, most were directed by donors to the permanent endowment, and some were temporarily restricted to programs and equipment including: autism, chaplain's assistance fund, equipment/capital purchases, lifeline, nurses scholarship fund, transitional care unit, advanced wound center, cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation unit, coronary care/icu, emergency department and paramedics.
