Mission: The Maryland Student Legislature (MSL) was founded in 1989 to:
(I) To convene, study, discuss and act on issues brought before the legislative and judicial bodies of the MSL
(II) To encourage greater public awareness concerning issues of public policy and provide a forum in which students across the state of Maryland can voice their opinions on issues of public policy.
(III) To develop among its members a dedication to the values of citizenship and democracy.
(IV) To teach parliamentary procedure while showcasing the debating, leadership and political talent of its members.
