The work they do is lifesaving. I have a friend who listed me as a reference. Their background checks are professional, respectful and necessary for such vulnerable children, and she was approved last year. I am so moved by the work they do I have changed them to be a recipient in my will. They truly care about the people they serve. I am grateful that there are such giving people in our community.

The folks at Wellspring Life are so warm and caring. It is very rewarding to volunteer there where life saving efforts happen every day.

I donated because our Church, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church , in Hampton, Virginia, has partnered up with the CBF to help get the cinder blocks and the oysters (at low tide) along the Hampton River. I understand we our donating money will help to buy more of the sea grass plants that will be planted, to help keep the shore line from eroding. They have deep roots when full grown. Hoping this donation will help to purchase more. I am sure there are more ways that may be done near where you live. We live in Hampton, we support our Hampton Community.!! It is a real way to help with the flooding prone to our areas.

Excellent experience at the 2024 Washington International Horse Show and I'm looking forward to visiting again in 2025!

Icarus is a wonderful, caring, hardworking organization that is dedicated to helping the neglected, discarded, and displaced parrots in the area. This organization goes the extra mile and deals with the "problem children" of the parrot world...Cockatoos. A lot of parrot rescues will not take Cockatoos due to their issues. Icarus embraces them and gives them a safe space to thrive. They also help educate people about the plight of these beautiful souls and work to make a difference. They are worthy of your support!!

I've been a volunteer literacy tutor with the AACLC for over six years. in that time, I've helped clients master difficult passages, improve their reading skills enough to read to their grandchildren or pass the GED. Sometimes helping someone discover how fractions work or see the joys of geometry. These successes and the occasional setback are always supported by the AACLC. There is a great pool of knowledge and resources among our group to draw upon. It really does take a village, and I am happy to be a part of AACLC and contribute whatever learning and experience I can.

This community treasure was started 30 years ago to fill a much-needed gap for families with young children to experience art, music, world cultures, science, history, etc. in a meaningful way. Since then we have served countless children and their accompanying caregivers.<br><br>The facility, a re-purposed radio station, sits in a five-acre park at the edge of Spa Creek. There are two nature trails, a Truck Pit, a Music Garden, a pretend boat made of logs, a Little Free Library, a pair of Whisper Dishes, and many other delights to discover.<br><br>An important part of our mission is to serve ALL our children which often means overcoming economic barriers. Your donation helps to provide a Chesapeake Children's Museum experience for children and families who otherwise could not afford it.

I joined the Annapolis Rotaract in 2018 as a member and have since held three different board positions, including Social & Membership, Community Service, and President. I initially joined to make friends, as I hadn't lived in the area for years. But I got so much more than that. I have not only made life-long friends but have had so many opportunities to give back to people in need while growing my personal and professional network. I highly recommend this club for any young professional who is looking to truly develop in so many ways as a person and contribute to the community through service.

Annapolis Shakespeare Company is a beacon of artistry and creativity in the community. Everything about their productions is top-notch, from the talent to the technical aspects. With every show I attend, I'm continually wowed by their commitment to growth and excellence. Their productions get better and better, and I will undoubtedly be a lifelong patron.

I learned about Warrior Events from my time with Valhalla Sailing Project. The great thing about Warrior Events is that they bring so many vets (AND THEIR FAMILIES) from the area together for some amazing events. They've taken me and my family to concerts, ball games, and tailgates. I have met so many great friends thru these guys. I haven't done it but they've done sky diving and off-roading trips. It's so cool. <br> <br>If you're anywhere near DC, Maryland, or Virginia, you need to get with Warrior Events! I can't wait for the next thing!

METAvivor Research and Support is a transparent, patient-centered organization that puts 100% of every donation toward stage VI metastatic breast cancer research. It is an organization that addresses the urgent needs of the metastatic breast cancer community.

I have volunteered with this nonprofit for nearly three years and continue to be amazed by the level of commitment and professionalism I encounter each day. The welfare of the animals remains the number one concern for all—staff and volunteers. I witness such love for the dogs and cats at the shelter. No matter how long it takes to find each one the perfect home, the SPCA remains focused and patient.

The Chesapeake Bay Trust gave two grants to the Back Creek Conservancy while I was on the board of BCC. The first, a $62,000 planning grant, was made even before BCC had received 501(c)(3) designation, and it gave us a clear five-year path. The second grant, two years later, was $69,000 for a restoration and outreach project in the common area of a local homeowners association. In both grants, the CBT staff were excellent professionals who actively worked to bring the projects to fully satisfactory conclusions on time and on budget.

As a staff member working for the organization I've learned a lot as a person working with the Boys & Girls Club. I've been here for 7 years as an employee and worked at 3 different clubs as a Club Director in which I love my job. Seeing the smiles on the kids faces because they are enjoying their selves as members and the smiles on their parents faces because they see the changes in their kids life is priceless. I love my job and love making a difference within the community because our kids are our next leaders. I'm not trying to hype up our organization but being here for so long you see a lot of changes and the changes that I've seen have been for the better.

Capital Caring is grateful to The Hospice Cup for its long-standing, enthusiastic and generous support given to us since 1983. The volunteers, donors and sailors of The Hospice Cup have been such staunch supporters of Capital Caring’s world-class end-of-life and palliative care that we’ve been able to improve care and expand access for thousands more people than we would have otherwise been able to do had it not been for your yeoman support. One’s end-of-life expernece and ability to "Die Well" have often been metaphorically linked to boats and skippers. Think of Tennyson’s poem “Crossing the Bar” or the Boatman Charon in ancient Greek mythology. These apt metaphors are not lost on us as we think of the impact Hospice Cup has had on the work of Capital Caring. That we care for 1,400 moms, dads, and children on any given day over 4,000 square miles - whether in private homes, retirement communities, or in one of our four in-patient units - is like that of a boat crew - each member working as a team, with precision, purpose and camaraderie in an effort to be the proverbial port in what could otherwise be a storm. To serve as a sextant and help patients and families navigate toward the best, most comfortable and peaceful end of life experience possible - this is our work and our honor. The famous sailor Jimmy Dean one said, “I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.” Thank you Hospice Cup for enabling Capital Caring to help so many more fellow sailors to cross the bar and find that distant shore with sails adjusted and waters calm.

I volunteered with the Center of Help for 4.5 years doing data entry and administrative assistant duties. They are a wonderful non-profit that serves the Latino/Hispanic population in Maryland. The Center offers ESOL and Computer classes, assistance, and educational programs for children, all within a family-like setting. This was a wonderful environment.

The Trust is a one of a kind agency that really believes in the power of hope . They have not only provided hope for kids but they have offered the same for families .

All Children's Chorus of Annapolis is an inclusive and diverse group of children who are dedicated to music, learning, participating in community performances, and working with each other. My child has thoroughly enjoyed participating in this group and it has facilitated her self-esteem as a singer and as a performer. She was especially affected by a recent performance the chorus did at a local hospital as she was able to observe the emotional impact the group's singing had on the patients. A truly worthwhile organization!

This is a phenomenal organization that cares about protecting one of our riches treasure. Thank you Baysavers for making a difference.

One of the best art non-profit organizations today; they are focused, continually driving towards their vision and mission of bringing art by living artists to the community. The membership is growing exponentially, due to a solid strategic plan for growth. Along the way, it creates incredible networks between artists and is a positive influence in the community. This organization is one to watch!

OIC combines solid teaching and first-rate moral support to help its students overcome their fears and grow their capabilities. Hands-on support helps students hang in there. OIC's spirit of dedication has been an important part of the Annapolis community since the late 1970s.

Bless in Tech Ministries is truly an asset to their community. Their job training and outreach programs have helped numerous youth and adults improve their lives and become contributing members of society.

They have done amazing research in the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic Oceans!

I have participated in CC's Thanksgiving Fest as a turkey cooker! I love how Rob and his amazing and dedicated volunteers reach out to our community in Eastport/Annapolis and make sure that these families know they are loved and respected. The kids have a great time with art and craft, parents get served and the whole family eat a delicious and nutritious meal together. I am thankful to be part of this community outreach and enjoy a meal with my neighbors as we serve and love them.
