Mission: Mautner Project is committed to improving the health of women who partner with women including lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals, through direct and support service, education and advocacy.
Programs: The Mautner Project's programming includes: 1) An award-winning Direct Services program for women with cancer, their families and caregivers, including case management, phone/email/peer support, support groups, health workshops, retreats, referrals, etc. 2) Innovative research on lesbian health issues. 3) Health education and outreach to the community on diverse health issues, from youth house parties to health fairs to conferences. 4) Healthcare provider cultural competency training, removing the barriers that prevent lesbians from accessing health care. 5) Training and technical assistance for other community organizations seeking to work on lesbian health. 6) Advocacy, through participating on national boards and coalitions to monitoring public developments affecting lesbian health.
