Mission: The mission of the organization is to enroll potential bone marrow donors for the national marrow donor program. Our emphasis is diversifying the registry by enrolling as many minority donors as possible. We organize marrow drives throughout the united states.
Programs: The mission of the organization is to enroll potential bone marrow donors for the national marrow donor program. Our emphasis is diversifying the registry by enrollingas many minority donors as possible. We accomplish our mission by organizing and managing marrow drives throughout the united states. In 2014, marrow nation sponsored and conducted 57 donor recruitment drives, primarily in the southeastern region of the united states. The majority were held on college campuses of florida state university, florida a and m university, tallahassee community college, bethume university, john williams college, university of south florida, state college of florida, tampa university, university of central florida, st. Petersburg college, clarke university and at private businesses. The results of the 2014 drives are 3,500 new donors registered, went on the be the match registry. Of those, 75% are minority donors. (non-white) in 2014 marrow nation achieved its goal of registering a total of over 3500 donors of which more than 75% were members of a minority, additionaly over 300 student athletes were registered. Marrow nation was awarded volunteerism award by the national marrow donor program in 2014 marrow nation drives saved 9 lives with enrolling people who went on to donate. 2014 marrow nation formed an alliance with the kidz1srt fund.
