Mission: To initiate and support primary education in rural republic of south sudan.
Programs: The marol academy (referred to as the organization) is a major supporter of marol academy primary school (referred to as the school) located in the republic of south sudan. The school enrolled 700 pupils for the school year from april through early december 2013. There are currently 21 teachers employed at the school, and $20,000 was provided to the school in 2013 to cover teacher salaries for the teaching months from april to december 2013, as well as to buy needed teaching supplies. The organization also paid an additional amount to cover salaries of the teachers who stayed on at the school after the school year was completed to tutor pupils studying to take exit exams. This was for the period from december 2012 through february 2013, when the pupils then sat for exams. . A notable accomplishment of 2013 is that the school had the largest number yet, of pupils-eighty-five (85)-who participated in the state-wide exit exams upon completion of grade 8, which is required for application to secondary school. Those pupils acheived the second highest scores in warrap state, missing first place by one point.
