I founded MARK-9 to help provide care for retired working K9s. As a veterinarian, I treat many, many active dogs. These dogs are athletes and often develop osteoarthritis and other aging changes.
Once retired, not all handlers have the means to provide appropriate medical care. Having MARK-9 funding helps to ensure these K-9 will receive medical care throughout their lives.
We were founded 10 years ago, and have helped hundreds of K-9s. We look to our supporters to help fund us, and every little bit counts!
I've been a volunteer with MARK-9 for 5 or 6 years now. The work they do to support our retired police and working dogs is amazing. Before getting involved, I had no idea the medical expenses for these hard working dogs became the burden of the handler. I've owned dogs my entire adult life so know caring for any dog, especially a retired working dog, is not cheap. It's a very small but impactful way to say thank you to the dog and the handler for their years of serving and protecting us.
