The organization awards scholarships to student athletes who are involved in one or more sports during the school year based on success of the interscholastic team, success in the high school curriculum, demonstrated leadership and the accomplishment of goals, providing a positive role model for other students, positive and constructive citizenship, and involvement in activies other than athletics & academics (i. concussion testing reimbursement. Grants are made to marin county high school athletic departments to conduct pre-season exams by a trained health care professional to be used to assess an athlete's balance & brain function, as well as test for the presence of any concussion symptons. Results from baseline tests (or pre-injury tests) can be used and compared to a similar exam conducted by a health care professional during the season if an athlete has a suspected concussion.
