Programs: Grants: manatee community foundation awarded 410 grants totaling $3,407,753 to 218 nonprofit organizations based on specific donor recommendations and broad areas of support identified by donors. These grants were awarded to support important programs and services in education, health, human services, civic engagement, youth development, animal welfare and the environment for organizations serving manatee county and beyond. scholarships: manatee community foundation awarded 95 scholarships totaling $200,798 from scholarship funds to new and returning college students, including graduating high school students attending a community college or 4-year university, students attending graduate school, and both young and adult learners returning to school to pursue a vocational or technical certification. Scholarship funds are established and managed to ensure that the community's educational needs are met.
community education and engagement: over the last fiscal year, more than 4,000 people visited the community spaces provided at manatee community foundation to attend free events including nonprofit education sessions, donor education sessions, and community forums to build the knowledge and participation of our citizens in charitable missions serving the people, places, and animals in manatee county.
