Mission: Defending against drugs and social disorder
Programs: Street patrol outreach program:the street patrol works in cooperation with the minneapolis police department, and as the title implies, consists of organized patrols of designated areas as determined by data driven need and/or requests from community members or other stakeholders. The presence of mad dads in highly visible green t-shirts and jackets, offers a powerful comforting deterrence to crime and violence. Youth development:mad dads facilitates a variety of training and/or engagement situations for young people, stressinf the importance of education and positive behavior, while encouraging youth to stay in school, get out of gangs, and become role models for their siblings and peers. Youth development contributes building communities that thrive not on the fear, violence and distrust, but on mutual respect, personal responsibility, and compassion for one's neighbor. We serve approximately 3,000 families in 2013.
