Programs: Macphail center for music transforms lives and communities through exceptional music learning experiences. It is our vision to provide students of all backgrounds and abilities access to the finest music learning through extraordinary faculty, innovative programs and integrated learning technology to create successful outcomes. We achieve this in three ways: partnerships, performances, and music education at our minneapolis, apple valley, chanhassen and white bear lake sites. In addition, macphail now offers lessons live, online. In fy14, macphail reached 66,000 lives through programs, workshops, and concerts. Partnerships: in the 2013-2014 academic year, macphail's community partnerships program provided services to 7,000 students in 92 locations. That represents more than half of all macphail's students. 52% of the students in our community partnerships program qualify for free and reduced lunch. Partnership locations range from the economically-challenged schools and preschools to hospitals and elder care facilities. Macphail's online school partnership program, launched in 2011, now serves 1,500 students from 21 rural minnesota schools with online band clinics, instrument specific sectionals, choir workshops and 1-on-1 lessons. Onsite music instruction: in fy14 macphail provided music education to 6,200 students through our on-site locations in minneapolis, white bear lake, chanhassen and apple valley locations. To increase access for students in fy 14, macphail provided over $570,000 in tuition assistance and scholarships to support the enrollment of 780 students, representing an 6% increase in financial aid from the previous year. The average adjusted gross income for families qualifying for aid was $32,854. Macphail's fy13 demographic survey shows an increase of students from racially and ethnically diverse background - from 21% in 2010 to 30% in 2013. With new offerings and a teen advisory council (mactac), macphail is investing in community leaders of the future by providing opportunities for creative expression and meaningful input into macphail offerings.
