Mission: To sponsor social, educational, recreational, and other programs that maintain and enhance the quality of life for the people who live in lyme.
Programs: See schedule o. During 2017, the lyme foundation supported education through three projects, one of which made possible face-to-face skype contact between lyme school children and jordanian and syrian children at a jordanian school through the welcoming all nationalities network. The foundation also supported new playground equipment for the lyme nursery school and a science program at the lyme school. The foundation awarded grants for energy efficiency projects recommended by the energy committee for the town of lyme. The foundation supported enhancements to the scoreboard at the lyme school gym and clearing on pinnacle hill to improve the viewscape. Finally, we joined the lyme fast squad in honoring the concept of mutual support by awarding a grant to improve emergency equipment in memory of a fallen volunteer fireman in a neighboring community. The griffith fund was used to support 20 college-bound students. The chafee fund awarded grants to 3 families in need. The dimick fund provided support to individuals in need, including 24 grants for fuel and rent assistance. The dimmick fund also supported 30 individuals with small cash awards at the end of the 2016 calendar year. This year, two lyme citizens of the year were recognized with a cash award from the miller fund.
