Causes: Human Service Organizations, Human Services
Mission: Responding to the Gospel, Lutheran Social Services of Illinois brings healing, justice and wholeness to people and communities.
Results: Serving Illinois since 1867, LSSI is one of the largest statewide social service providers, serving over 43,000 people last year. The demographics of clients served by LSSI generally reflect those of Illinois’ population, with one important exception - over 90% of households served by LSSI last year reported annual incomes of under $25,000.

Programs: LSSI provides critical programs that include: children’s services; mental health services; alcohol and drug treatment; senior services; residential programs for the developmentally disabled; and programs that help people and families impacted by incarceration. LSSI serves people of all ages, races, gender identities, sexual orientations, and faiths.
