Mission: To foster the creation, understanding and enjoyment of the arts in and around the lubbock community.
Programs: Providing the very best visual, performing, children's, and arts in a community-wide celebration of the arts, highlighting local, regional and national artists to an audience of over 20,000 individuals and 2,500 plus school children each year.
local color studio tour is open to the public who are invited to travel on their own from studio to studio to observe artists in their working environments, many of which are in private homes. All participating artists are from lubbock county and all of the studios are located in lubbock, texas. Usually 55 artists and 10 studios are highlighted during this event which has an audience of 5,000 individuals.
the state of texas cultural district designation is focused on making lubbock an "arts destination" for residents and visitors. Efforts include a comprehensive marketing campaign, weekly newsletters, a dedicated website, and cooperative programming. This program serves 250 working artists and 40 arts organizations.
arts advocacy through disseminating arts-related information and convening the arts community for workshops and meetings, publishing a bi-weekly art alert! E-mail and hosting advocacy events.
