Direct beneficiaries per year: over 100 students, providing over 700 hours of tutoring.
Geographic areas served: Redwood City public schools
Programs: in-class, pull-out tutoring at McKinley Institute of Technology. We work with small groups of students in collaboration with the classroom teacher, providing critical middle school reading and writing skills support aligned with Common Core standards: Book Club at Fair Oaks Community School: working with 4th and 5th graders in our after school program to build reading comprehension skills, learn to support their opinions with references from the text, practice summarizing and paraphrasing passages to find the main idea and communicate it clearly.
