Lij serves as a clinical campus for the hofstra north shore-lij school of medicine, it is a nys-doh desingated stroke center and the recipient of the aha get with the guidelines-sroke gold plus award for 2011. In 2016, lijmc had 54,545 inpatient discharges, delivered 8,074 babies, provided 144,689 emergency department visits and performed 23,647 ambulatory surgeries including edoscopies and cardiac catheterizations.
cohen children's medical center ("ccmc"), is a 266-bed pediatric hospital. Ccmc provides primary, secondary, tertiary and quarternary care through a continuum of medical, surgical, psychiatric and dental programs and services, on an inpatient and ambulatory basis. The regional pediatric trauma center at ccmc is one of only three such centers in all of new york state that has received this designation.
