Mission: The mission of lone star drowning prevention alliance is to be a catalyst in drowning prevention for the dallas/fort worth metroplex area as well as texas.
Programs: In 2013, lone star drowning prevention alliance' programs focused on water safety education for families and communities, as well as distribution of water safety resources throughout north texas. Lone star drowning prevention alliance directors, officers and volunteers took part in 17 water safety events in 2013, giving individual water safety and cpr instruction to 280 families. Lone star drowning prevention alliance also distributed thousands of water safety materials and resources in texas, including water safety brochures, water watcher tags, and lifejackets. Over 200 adults decided to become lifesaver members, agreeing to incorporate water safety steps at their homes and share those steps with neighbors and friends. As an organization, lone star drowning prevention alliance strengthened its reach and effectiveness by establishing partnerships with the safe kids coalition, the fort worth drowning prevention coalition, and multiple north texas municipalities. Lone star drowning prevention alliance also doubled the size of its board of directors in 2013, increasing the quality of oversight.
