Programs: National order processing systems - the association manages rates & data and elite, two programs that are critical to the day-to-day functions of the industry. Rates & data provides rates and associated information about yellow pages products that are available in association member and non-member directories. The rates & data system provides certified marketing representatives (cmrs), publishers and advertisers' easy access to advertising rates, coverage and maps for approximately 6,300 directories. The elite system is a computer system used for the transmission of national advertising order data between cmrs and association publishers, members and non-members for print or internet yellow page directories. The association maintains the elite system through a contract with a third party provider. The user base is currently located in the us, canada, and mexico. The system also includes a directories online component which includes copies of directories for use by cmrs. The association conducts training classes as required to provide education on industry systems, standards, research, selling techniques, and co-op advertising.
the annual conference is open to all members and non-members. It supports the basic goals of our organization by providing education, research analysis, environmental information, open dialogue and addresses the issues facing our industry on a daily basis. The conference is an opportunity for members and non-members to introduce new products and services for the industry.
research - the association commissions research about the yellow pages and other local media to measure and understand consumer behavior with respect to media usage. The research includes an industry usage study to measure consumer usage of both print and internet yellow pages, a metered ad study. The association, in turn, will disseminate this information to a variety of audiences including our members, the press, advertisers and advertising agencies. By doing this, the association is able to prove the value of the yellow pages and other local media to all of these various constituencies.
