Mission: Literacy Volunteers of America; Connecticut River East is committed to helping adults develop literacy through well-trained volunteer tutors. As a result the students develop basic reading, writing, speaking, listening and critical thinking skills in real life contexts. We believe the ability to read and write is vital to personal freedom and the maintenance of a free society.
