Programs: Held conference to further educate and developmental training. Activities: southern california linux expo: held annual educational event in february 2014 in los angeles, ca. The conference provided education and developmental training in the areas open-source and free software to over 2300 participants. This year's program included a new track offering educational opportunities for elementary and middle school students interested in becoming involved in open-source communities. Open source software in education: provided low cost training seminars to k-12 and university educators in southern california as part of a 1 day event on february 25, 2011. Sessions provided lesson plans and strategies for using open-source software in the classroom to provide and improved educational experience. Texas linux festival: held annual texas linux festival in austin, tx in june 2014. Similar to the southern california linux expo, the texas linux festprovided educational opportunities for individuals interested in learning more about linux and open-source software.
