Programs: Lifefitness, llc is a 501(c)(3) joint venture between erlanger health systems and siskin hospital for physical rehabilitation, inc. Both erlanger and siskin hospital are dedicated to providing accessible physical rehabilitation services to the community in a manner that meets the needs of the community. Lifefitness was formed to provide convenient outpatient physical therapy at various locations throughout the community to assist individuals in recovery from or to prevent disability, assisting each person served toward independence. Lifefitness recognizes that not all individuals possess the financial resources to purchase essential medical services. Part of lifefitness' mission is to offer services to those in need regardless of ability to pay. Free care and/or subsidized care is provided based on individual financial need. In addition, lifefitness provides a number of community support and educational events. These include: participating in health fairs and exhibits, participating in physical rehabilitation medical and clinical research projects and providing speakers to community organization events on a variety of healthcare topics. Lifefitness served 952 outpatients during the fiscal year ending june 30, 2010 providing approximately 15,000 units of physical therapy. The value of services provided to tenncare and medicare patients below cost is recognized as charity care. The unreimbursed care for these patients for the fiscal year ending june 30, 2010 was 4,717.
