Mission: To equip orphans to live a transformed life by providing their material, education and spiritual needs. To empower widows for self reliance through a private business model by providing skill development, vocational training and financial loan. To provide clean water for the people of ethopia.
Programs: Activities in 2017 orphans - in june 2017 we gave life skill and behavioral change training for 35 teenage orphans - in august 2017 we had history sharing and craft making program for 22 orphans at the end of the school year, we had a party for the orphans and award program with 142 children. We had two times medical mission for 90 orphans. We distributed 142 pairs of shoes for 142 orphans we distributed sanitary materials like toothbrush, soup for 142 orphans. We distributed school materials like pen exercise book for 142 orphans widows in 2017 - we gave business skill training and interrelationship training for 60 widows. We gave training about good parenting for caregivers and community leaders. Their number was 30. We had medical mission twice at different times for widows, and we served 23 widows. In august and july 2017 we gave sawing machine and embroidery training for 24 widows with a certificate. In september we train six widow's how to use a sewing machine, and they received a certificate. Sekota water well project _ life center accomplished a water well project for the town of sekota which is 375 miles north of the capital city addis ababa and five rural villages in the surrounding area. Sekota is a small, poverty-stricken town of about 30,000 people. The five surrounding villages have a population close to 5,000. The cost of the project is $100, 000 (for machinery, and materials only. The labor and transport is from volunteers and partners. This water well project has become functional already and it is used mainly for drinking clean water and for small-scale irrigation farm for the widows in the villages. It alleviates the problem of drinking water that has been the critical problem for many years. Women and children used to walk average 6 hours to fetch drinking water. Water purification system - life center obtained 60 small and simple water purification equipment from partners and donors that costs $2,400 and started a pilot project in addis ababa and sekota. We distributed the equipment to schools, and clusters of villages with which they purify dirty water for drinking. These two water projects have already started impacting the lives of the people in a very positive way.
