Mission: Lit social justice center provides space that is spiritually affirming to all races regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or spiritual belief. Its mission is to support the hungry, naked, imprisoned, and homeless, through programs and services.
Programs: The open door drop-in center provides a space for homeless people to have access to showers, laundry and a snack. We also provide hiv/aids information and free condoms. The center is a vehicle for those at the greatest risk for contracting hiv/aids - including homeless people. Intravenous drug users - non-intravenous drug users and sex workers to be introduced to case management, housing assistance - group level interventions, and other services offered by the organization.
african american women's project provides outreach and prevention specifically focused on african american women who are at risk for and living with hiv/aids. Trained facilitators conduct sessions of the cdc developed herr programs, sista and healthy relationships in collaboration with local organizations serving african american women.
