I never thought I’d be homeless — but there I was, living in my car with my two kids, scared and ashamed. After escaping an abusive relationship, I had nowhere to go and no one to turn to. I was battling depression, hungry, and completely broken.

When I found L.A.S.H. Foundation, I expected a hot meal. What I got was so much more. They listened to me without judgment, helped me get into transitional housing, and enrolled me in their Women’s Empowerment Program. I started receiving counseling, job training, and mentorship. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I mattered.

Six months later, I had a full-time job, keys to my own apartment, and a new sense of purpose. Today, I give back by volunteering with L.A.S.H., helping other women believe in themselves again — just like they helped me.

“They didn’t just feed me — they saved me.”
