Causes: Education, Two-Year Colleges
Mission: To encourage and evaluate innovation and experimentation designed to improve all aspects of community college operation, through the association of a group of community colleges.
Programs: Research projects:for brighter futures 3. 0, colleges were selected and received funding based on their commitment to scale the retail management certificate (rmc) program in their service areas by administering the program and providing services and instructional stipends to incumbent workers who seek to earn the rmc industry-driven credential. Twelve (12) colleges were selected to participate in the project. Overall, 2,000 individuals are expected to be served by the college, resulting in 1,200 incumbent workers enrolling in the eight, three-credit courses leading to the retail management certificate. It is anticipated that 600 individuals who begin the program will earn the credential. Additionally, the colleges will work very closely with retail employers. It is anticipated that 48 employers, an average of four per college, will become highly engaged with the partner colleges. Faculty voices engages community college faculty in the national conversation about student completion. In 2017 (year 4), activities included 2 site visits at which 7 discussion groups with approximately 70 participants were held; publication of 31 blog posts, 1 publication, and 74 youtube videos; 14 presentations; continued analysis of findings from years 1, 2, and 3 that affirmed six major themes and a series of recommendations for community college leaders, faculty, and policy makers/others; and continued launch of the league's new association management system.

The league annually awards the cross papers fellowship, which supports production and presentation of the cross papers monograph.
