Mission: The responsibility for our lives and the kind of world in which we live is ours and ours alone. We are steadfast in our optimism about the good which humans can achieve. We believe secular humanism can bring about the fullest realization of the best we are capable of as human beings.
Target demographics: The purpose of our non-profit, educational organization is to promote a progressive philosophy of life, without theism and other supernatural beliefs, affirming our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good of humanity. This human-centered view point is a valid contribution to public discourse and helps to guarantee the maintenance of the First Amendment’s assurance of the separation of state and church.
Geographic areas served: The Last Frontier Freethinkers was founded on February 8th, 2014 by a group of non-theists on the Kenai Peninsula. Our members are freethinkers of many kinds. We call ourselves agnostics, Unitarians, atheists, skeptics, secular humanists, and rationalists. We welcome you and all who are interested in participating in our friendly community, either as members or observers. We support each other while engaging in social activism, philosophical discussion, and community building events.
Programs: Helping Kenai Peninsula Babies sleep safe through our Baby Boxes Campaign, Providing a safe place for people in our community who feel like a marginalized minority, working with Amnesty International to free prisoners of conscience.
