Mission: To enhance and promote the livestock industry in lasalle county by uniting producers, consumers, and the ag sector, while establishing and promoting family and youth livestock activities within the county.
Programs: Enhance and promote the livestock industry by uniting producers, consumers and the agricultural service sector while establishing and promoting family and youth livestock activities.
1) annual scholarships: the lasalle county stockman's association awards an annual scholarship to a lasalle county resident between the ages of 17-23. 2) win a show animal contest: the lasalle county stockman's association facilitates an essay contest for lasalle county juniors (members and non- members) that are involved in 4-h or ffa, to win a show the following year. 3) educational seminars: the organization provides a free dinner/program to the public for the purpose of educating on the topic of livestock care, production, and reproduction. 4) rewards and recognition banquet: the association provides a platform for winners from the lasalle county junior fair to sell their market animals to the public to earn money for their future. The association also assists the juniors in finding bidders to purchase and advertise to attact bidders. All programs/events are supported by the volunteers/members of the stockman's association. There is no formal paid staff providing support.
