Mission: Providing partnerships in infrastructure, rule of law, and educational development projects that focus on people and communities in transition. ILI provides local communities of color, including immigrant families, with effective tools with which to access community housing and healthcare, as well as education on laws and regulations which may negatively affect family stabilization. . ILI was established in 1994 as a response to a fundamental belief that local efforts to improve the quality of life of communities, families and children could not continue to be isolated from global efforts. As the ethnic demographics of the Twin Cities underwent a rapid change in the mid to late 90`s, ILI focused its local efforts on issues of civic education and relationship building between new arrivals and long term community residents of Asian, African American and Hispanic origin.
