Mission: 211, East Tennessee Information & Referral was started in 2000 when the Knox County Health Improvement Council completed a needs assessment that determined people did not know about needed services nor how or where to find them.In 2000, the FCC designated 2-1-1 as information & referral for community resources. 2-1-1 ETI&R is connecting the people of East Tennessee with needed community resources.
