Causes: Boys & Girls Clubs, Children & Youth, Education, Elementary & Secondary Schools, Literacy
Mission: Our philosophy of service our programs are designed to develop competence, usefulness, belonging and influence in young people, changing their lives for the better. We seek to serve first those youth from disadvantaged circumstances. We understand that disadvantaged circumstances are situations where children do not have adequate access to resources, guidance or developmental experiences. Our operations, in business and in youth development, are measured and continually improved to ensure maximum effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability. We collaborate whenever such collaboration is mutually beneficial to our members, their families, our partners organization and our own. We minimize capital expenditures and the ownership of buildings by partnering with schools and other organizations to serve youth in their facilities. No bricks we believe that every recipient family can and should contribute to the mission.
Programs: Boys and girls teen centers: we operate school-based boys & girls teen centers in spartanburg and cherokee counties after school and throughout the summer. Theses sites focus on serving students who qualify for free school meals. On a weekly basis club members spend their time engaged in five core program areas according to the following formula - 10% character, 50% education, 10% life skills, 10% arts, and 20% fitness and recreation. Over 80% of our club members qualify for free school meals. Over 1,100 students attend our clubs every day. Our program outcomes included improved academic performance, citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. Donated facilities value of 341 not included in program service expenses.
