summer programming: this year we developed our own kestrel summer adventures nature-science programs, which, like school programs are designed as local nature science adventures, in addition to our summer partner programs. We taught 42 students in five weeks of our own programming and 330 students in our partner programs.
expanding horizons partnership with salem public schools: kestrel designed and led extended day and afterscool programs at collins middle school in partnership with salem public schools and leap for education. Kestrel provides a service that very few outdoor educational organizations offer. They encourage students to explore and ask questions about what they find, and instead of responding with an answer to those questions they encourage self-discovery through observation, experimentation inquiry.
Kestrel provides real opportunities for students to make personal discoveries and answer question like scientists do in the real world.
