Watched a baby, what at the time I thought was a duck, narrowly missed by a car who saw it walking across the road at the last possible second. No other family members anywhere in site. I stopped and scooped him/her up and searched for parents. Eventually I went home with this little one attached to my hip. My daughter found Vicki's number and left her a message. She texted back and allowed us to bring it to her. When I got there, I experienced a wonderful place full of hope , peace and second chances. I am so thankful that someone cares to be available AND accept what turned out to be a fairly newly hatched gosling!! Thank you Vicki

Vicki and her volunteers go above and beyond for any animal, no matter how low on the food chain. All lives matter to them. They are the only rescue I've ever dealt with that didn't do things for the notoriety, or how much money they can bring in advertising it, they do it purely for the love of all creatures. They have helped me to try and catch mangy coyotes, feral kittens and their ill mom, a stray cat with a dangerous collar getting too tight, a little seven-lined squirrel that had an encounter with an over-zealous dog and birds that needed care. No matter what time of day, she will help. Vicki is the standard that all rescues should follow.

I have truly enjoyed my time at KARE. I have learned so much and it's an environment you can honestly grow in. We have an amazing team of people dedicated to the care of the animals, plain and simple. We are all there to make a difference in anyway we can.
