Causes: Community Recreational Centers, Sports
Mission: The Kaiserman JCC exists to ensure a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment where Jewish values inspire excellent social, recreational, educational, cultural, and humanitarian activities that embrace our identity and connection to Israel. The Kaiserman Jewish Community Center aspires to be the premier multi-generational hub of non-denominational Jewish activity. We strive to positively impact the wellness of the mind, body and spirit in an inclusive environment for this and future generations.
Programs: The Robert J. Wilf preschool and kindergarten at the Kaiserman JCC offers comprehensive nursery, preschool and kindergarten programs on our 20-acre site. The preschool is housed in the flora and Jerome P. Heilweil building adjacent to the Conston Fitness Center. The preschool and kindergarten provide a stimulating, creative environment for children to have fun. While encouraging their cognitive, social and emotional development, we help each child build feelings of positive self-esteem. With this strong foundation, children are exposed to the complete preschool experience as they enjoy music, art, computers, kinder gym and more. Some of the more memorable experiences include celebrating Shabbat and the Jewish holidays. In addition, our fully licensed kindergarten programs offer language arts, math, social studies, science and Hebrew. Health & Recreation - even if you are better at lifting the remote than lifting weights, our trainers, facilities and programs will get you moving! All of our programs are run by nationally certified health and recreation professionals. Whether you choose our fitness rooms, group fitness classes, spinning room or sports leagues, you are sure to find a fitness niche that meets your needs. Maccabi Games - the JCC Maccabi Games are a week-long international sporting event for Jewish athletes held each year in North America. The experience includes opening ceremony, intense competitions, community service mitzvah projects, fun evening events, home hospitality, and down time activities. Team Philadelphia, one of the largest delegations participating in the games each year, is comprised of athletes from all over the Philadeplhia area and its suburbs. Athletes must try out for a position on a team. From Tots to Teens - Kaiserman JCC provides summer day camp experiences that builds friendships and memories to last a lifetime. Our day camp is open to everyone in the community. We are committed to providing an excellent, well-rounded summer program where children of all ages gain knowledge, skills, self-esteem and confidence. Our campers have the opportunity to learn about Jewish traditions and connect with their heritage. Our unique program offers older campers the option to select 'majors' in either a sport or art specialty taught by local coaches and artists. In addition, the Kaiserman JCC offers a full inclusion program for children with special needs, bringing children of all abilities together to learn, grow, understand and appreciate one another's differences. Supervisors, specialists and counselors are all carefully selected based on experience and ability to relate to children. They help to provide a safe, nurturing environment that builds a sense of independence and individual accomplishment for our campers. KidsTime is our signature after-school care program. Known throughout the Lower Merion School District as "the place for your child to be" when the school day is over. KidsTime picks your child up at school and brings them to the JCC. Fun-filled activities such as gym time, outdoor play as often as possible, art, cooking, clubs, homework room, reading center and more are offered. Above all. . . no TV, phones and no hand-held video games!
