This is such an AMAZING organization that provides so much to empower our children to teach them self awareness & self defense. Many hard working, compassionate individuals striving to protect our communities. So thankful for all that they have done & continue to do for my girls & everyone else!!!
Justice For Sierah, Inc is very near and dear to me. From the moment I heard of the horrific events, I knew I wanted to become a part of the mission to make sure this never happens again. I am constantly amazed by the incredible dedication from not only the board members but the community as as a whole. The speed at which Sierah’s Law was unanimously passed in Ohio is an excellent indicator that the work this organization is doing is spot on. As Sierah Strong for the School begins taking off in NW Ohio, the goal is to have this curriculum in every school in Ohio and around the country. I have no doubt this will happen. I am so proud to be a part of this amazing organization.
Justice for Sierah is truly a great organization! In today’s world it is extremely important to educate our youth on self awareness and self defense. By implementing this program into school curriculums, we are able to impact a large range of individuals. It is amazing to see the influence this organization has already made in our community and I look forward to seeing the change it will continue to create statewide.
The self defense classes that the program provides are life changing for the children in our community. I am excited to see Sierah Strong implemented in Ohio schools and look forward to the organization's future endeavors.
Thank you for the support and this great review!
Justice For Sierah is an organization that is working to protect our community. Justice for Sierah has implemented the Ohio violent offender registry, known as Sierah's Law, hosts self-defense classes in the community and schools. As an educator in Toledo I see the importance of self-awareness and self-defense. The Sierah Strong Curriculum has vital information for children learning these skills and knowledge to keep themselves safe. I am proud to be apart of this mission with Justice for Sierah and I am excited for the future of this nonprofit.
I attended the Sierah Strong Program last summer and brought a friend. We had fun and learned a lot. I feel safer when I am outside by myself or ride my bike in the neighborhood. I know it makes my parents feel better also. I think all kids should go and learn!
Justice for Sierah's mission is to positively impact our communities by providing self-defense and awareness techniques to our youth. I have had the pleasure of being a part of JFS and seeing its growth firsthand. I can attest to the fantastic work and countless hours that Tara, Sierah's family, and the volunteers have done in such a short time. From successfully passing Sierah's Law to developing the Sierah Strong programs, the impact this will have on our young people is immeasurable. If you're looking for an organization to donate your time or make a financial contribution to, know that you will choose an incredible organization focused on impacting as many lives as possible.
I am a new volunteer with Justice for Sierah and I am blown away by the level of professionalism from the leadership and the overall commitment to the community and helping others. Although we have made a tremendous impact thus far with Sierah's Law and the school curriculum, I feel like we've just begun to scratch the surface of the impact we can make both locally and nationally.
Justice for Sierah's dedication to empower our youth with tools to help to keep them safe continued through a National Pandemic, and this spring two schools were able to pilot the first Sierah Strong Curriculum in the Middle School. With great feedback from this first endeavor, there are currently four schools signed up to bring this program into their schools in the fall. Tara Ice, President, is determined to work on revising the program for Kindergarten through fifth grades so that all Elementary through Middle School children will have the opportunity to go through this program. Justice for Sierah for the Community continues to offer free classes that include the Kid Print ID. Our children need this information to not only keep them safe but to give them the confidence that they know what to do if they are ever in a compromising situation.
Justice for Sierah came about through a tragedy that happened to our family in 2016. Sierah was abducted a quarter of a mile from her home and three days later found murdered. She was just 20 years old. We turned our grief into positive action and just 2 years later Sierah's Law officially became a law in 2018. This creates a violent offender registry for all Law enforcement in the state of Ohio to use when a child goes missing. We are hoping to pass this law in other states as well. Sierah Strong provides classes for children ages 6-16 teaching the importance of self awareness and self defense tactics to keep them safe. They also receive a Kid Print ID with important information about them along with their finger print. A curriculum based program is being worked on to be used in the schools to reinforce these skills every single year. Justice for Sierah knows that Knowledge is Power and is committed to providing the community with age appropriate classes to protect our youth.
I was introduced to Justice for Sierah about 6 months ago, and since then, I have been so impressed by their steadfast dedication to the mission of protecting the young people of our community. The Sierah Strong for the Schools curriculum is bringing truly life-changing training to youth so they will be ready if they ever face a compromising situation, and this is critically important work.
I live in Gresham Oregon and have flown home to volunteer for the special events and fund raisers that support "Justice For Sierah" and have been blessed by doing so. Tara has given so much of her time to this amazing Nonprofit organization, that helps empower young children by teaching self defense and self awareness. Without her dedication to "Justice For Sierah", the unanimous vote to pass "Sierah's Law" would not have happened. She has also worked hard at developing the curriculum for "Sierah Strong", empowering our youth so that no one has to suffer the loss of a loved one as we did. I am grateful for all the members of the board and volunteers that work so hard for all that "Justice For Sierah" stands for!
Justice for Sierah is an amazing non profit that promotes self defense and awareness to young children. The President Tara Ice has a vision and a drive to reach as many young lives as possible and impact them in a positive way. Whether you want to volunteer for a fundraiser or an event this is a great non profit to get involved with.
Tara Ice is the President of Justice for Sierah, and the founder of this wonderful organization. I have watched her over the past 3 years grow and lead this organization through many spectacular achievements. From advocating and passing Sierah’s Law in Ohio, which created a violent offender database, to launching Sierah Strong self defense classes, and working to pave the way for a curriculum based education program for our youth, Tara and her team have worked countless hours building this non-profit. With the huge success of the Sierah Birthday Soirée in February, Justice for Sierah is poised to take a leadership roll in helping our youth be better educated and prepared for the unexpected situations they may face. Under Tara’s leadership and guidance, they will find great success.
I am very thankful for being given the opportunity to volunteer for such a wonderful organization. The founders are undeniably committed to educating both our youth and our community with the programs they have implemented, They are absolutely an amazing group of people to work with!
I have participated in the Sierah Joughin 5K race for the past 4 years, this year I will be doing it virtually. Anytime that I have had a question about the race, packet pickup, Tara has responded and answered my questions, provided the necessary information. This is a great non profit organization
I have been honored to lend my time to volunteer. It is a project I will continue to help with as many aspects of Justice for Sierah as I possibly can. It is wonderful watch all these young women learn to take an active role in their self defense. It is also great to see so many people come together to raise fund to continue Justice for Sierah's mission whether it be volunteering or being an active participant in the race or the gala.
As an avid volunteer I could have chosen many other nonprofits to give my time, energy, and money to. I chose JFS because of their robust, meaningful, and impactful mission. The leaders of this organization are inspiring and enjoyable to work with. They stick to their mission and core values no matter the obstacles they face. Not to mention they have many fun volunteers to work alongside!
Amazing nonprofit with the goal off bringing self defense and awareness to children by hosting classes within the community. The nonprofit is currently working on developing a software to integrate into the school system as a requirement for education in Ohio.
Justice For Sierah has a mission and vision worth supporting. Whether you choose to volunteer your time/talent, or make a financial contribution, I highly recommend getting involved with this nonprofit and becoming an advocate in honor of Sierah's legacy!
Justice for Sierah's commitment to meaningful change is inspiring. They've created the states first Violent Offender Database, which that alone would have been enough for MOST organizations. But, they aren't most organizations. Justice For Sierah is also working hard to ensure that every child has the training and tools to stay safe through their Sierah Strong program and partnerships with programs like the KidPrint ID.
