Program appropriations & community assistance funds: the junior league of denver (jld) is currently working to improve literacy rates in the denver metro area for children birth through third grade. The jld participates in several key community programs in this area in terms of financial resources and providing volunteer participation. Notably among these are kids connect, read 2 kids, and one book 4 colorado. These programs focus on providing book rich environments for all children, while reinforcing the message that getting children ready to read is of the utmost importance. The jld also provides similar resources for other initiatives such as our literacy psa's and partnership programs with other community organizations, such as the gathering place. Junior league of denver's newest community initiative is l. U. V. S. , leaders united in volunteer service. During this yearly day of service, members will volunteer at the same time to complete many projects united by a common focus. Expenses totaled $10,978 in 2017-18.

Membership training and education: the junior league of denver has, over the years, acquired a reputation as the leading women's organization in developing leaders who impact the community positively. The league believes in the power of trained volunteers and is resolute in providing training for women to be effective volunteers and leaders in the community throughout their lives. As such, the league is focused on providing an effective environment that incorporates skills in managing resources, values challenging experiences and, in the process, assimilates community awareness of the needs of families with young children.
