Genuine, deeply caring, fully engaged, completely authentic. These are the words that describe my experience with every person I have interacted with who is involved with the Joseph James Morelli Legacy Foundation.
When I think about the vision and mission of the foundation and the people it serves, it is clearly Important work. Completely focused on the whole person and whole wellbeing of the scholarship recipients so that they and their families can thrive and and will also be supported when they struggle.
It is a joy and pleasure to be a small part of championing this foundation forward.
I've had a close relationship with the Morelli family for 6 years now, allowing me the privilege to witness and take part in this life-changing foundation. I've watched the foundation grow in size, number of annual events, number of donors, amount raised, and in the end, the number of students that the foundation is able to provide scholarships for. The 'Thank You' event that takes place every August is such a special way to celebrate the foundation's efforts and success and hear directly from the students about their dreams and goals and how the foundation has impacted them and their families lives.

The Joseph James Morelli Legacy Foundation has a special place in my heart and it's an honor to be part of the Morelli family. This foundation touches so many lives across the country and so many young students are able to pursue their dream jobs because of the help and support they receive. The thank you event that the Morelli family holds every year is a wonderful way to meet the scholarship recipients, hear their stories, and learn more about their education and career goals.
The Joseph James Morelli Legacy Foundation has built in myself such an unbreakable bond of energy that keeps me in pursuit with a path of purpose. Entering college I was 17 years old, with so much unknown ahead…Going into college and even getting into college I had only detrimental obstacles and tireless endeavors of furthering a Mechanical Engineering aimed education and career.
What this scholarship means to me is when having patience in yourself and others, your ability to understand and innovate a greater world will follow. Over the years I have learned how to create my own destiny, and could not have made it without this scholarship. Most of all my personable persistence to help others and deliver my strengths graciously has uplifted. The foundation has invested in me a power to optimize the future of STEM education in my University, and I will never be alone again. As I take each new year with vigilance and dedication to honor, I will continue to share the love.
If it weren't for this foundation, I may have truly lost all hope in becoming a Mechanical Engineer. What they do is something no one has done before. Students with creative minds and different learning strategies like myself are pushed away from their passions, because of what society claims to be "intelligent" also known as " good test takers". They push us to build tools to master around societies educational structure, so that we may deliver the next creative innovation in STEM. Because in reality, in the world of STEM, the world needs more diverse thinkers, and creative innovators. Their service to making these accomplishments are going to benefit, the world.
This foundation changes the lives of our scholarship recipients in so many ways including Forrest who shared, "I am incredibly grateful to receive the scholarship. Throughout my life I've silently struggles against dyslexia. To me, this scholarship not only represents a validation of the many adversities I've faced, but also a recognition of everything that I've managed to achieve despite my learning differences." Our recipients often tell us that it's validating to know that someone believes in them and how incredibly motivating that is when they have had to navigate so many obstacles throughout their life. It is an honor to be a volunteer Board Member for this organization and to made such a difference in so many lives.
The Joseph James Morelli Legacy Foundation goes above and beyond to support students with learning disabilities to believe in themselves and graduate from college. They provide more than just financial support, they also provide social, emotional and academic support. This foundation is one of a kind.
This foundation is truly making a difference in the lives of kids who need it and those that need the support & recognition that they are intelligent in spite of their learning disabilities. The community embodies the spirit of Joseph and his loving, selfless, kind spirit has lived on because of it. I am proud to be a part of this foundation!
This foundation provides more than financial support but empathy that follows the student throughout their personal and college goals. The foundation stays personally involved to ensure the scholarship recipients are supported with mentors and people who can help them succeed. I've not seen a foundation provide this "servant leadership" before.
The Joseph James Morelli Foundation is an extraordinary organization driven by the passion of the hundreds of students it has helped, their parents, volunteers and board members. The organization is committed to helping students with dyslexia, going into STEM fields, to realize their potential. The letters they send, thanking us for believing in them and telling us how our belief made such a difference in their lives, are heart-warming and rewarding. Our recently launched mentorship program is expanding our support of the JJMLF scholarship recipients and providing them with skills to set them up for a successful future.
I have volunteered with this organization and the students they work with. A great organization, I am grateful to have gotten connected with them.
This organization works endlessly to support students that struggle with learning challenges. They continue to find new ways to support the kids they award scholarships to with both financial and emotional assistance to ensure a positive and successful educational experience!
