Programs: Elder club. Jfs offers an engaging and upbeat program for older adults who may have physical limitations and/or mild to moderate memory challenges and may be isolated with limited opportunities for social interaction. The elder club provides participants with a wide range of activities, ability-appropriate exercise, and nutritious meals prepared on-site. Peer socialization and friendship are enjoyed in a safe group setting with professional facilitation and support. At the same time, family caregivers receive much-needed respite to attend to their own needs. Between july 2016 and june 2017, jfs elder club provided 1198 client-days of socialization and support for 42 individuals. Fifty-four percent of elder club members received scholarships to pay for their attendance.
