Causes: Community Recreational Centers, Sports
Mission: To support and nurture the sustainability of a year-round community on islesboro by improving health and fitness programs, access to the arts, connection to wireless technology, education, recreational, and social interactions for residents of all ages.
Programs: Youth: the icc offers a kids club after school program that averaged 18 attendees in 2017. The program includes piano, ballet, theater, sports (badminton and pickleball), practical crafts (woodworking) and socialization for island children.
education: a lunch and learn series of events provided residents with seminars on various topics ranging from healthy eating to less screen time, support with signing up for health insurance and aging gracefully. .
health and fitness: the fitness center, a gym with various exercise equipment, is well patronized by year round and summer residents of all ages. A physical therapist, an acupuncturist, a masseuse and reiki practioner are also available for appointments, usually with a full schedule. Self defense classes for women were also offered.
