Mission: The purpose of the association is to produce, operate and manage an annual whidbey island area fair and is no longer under the jurisdiction of the county, but a privately operated "area fair" pursuant to rcw 15. 76. 120(1) commencing in the summer of 2012. The county also agrees to lease to the association the real property, buildings and fixtures formerly used to conduct the island county fair.
Programs: Preparation and planning for the whidbey island area fair which occurs every august. The annual attendance is approximately 22,000. During non-fair time rent buildings and grounds to support the cost of the fair.
other miscellaneous fund raising activities for 2015 fair were the easter egg hunt, scarecrow day, calendars and bingo. Approximately 500 - 1000 attend these events.
