Mission: The mission of the immigrant and refugee community organization (irco) is to promote the integration of refugees, immigrants, and the community at large into a self-sufficient, healthy, and inclusive multi-ethnic society.
Programs: Youth academic and workforce programs - irco's culturally and linguistically specific academic support programs, mentoring programs, gang intervention and prevention programs, and schools uniting neighborhoods (sun) programs in portland schools assist refugee and immigrant youths to achieve high school diplomas and integrate with the community at large.
job placement and related services - irco programs that provide job readiness training and help adults and youth from the refugee and immigrant community find and maintain employment, increase economic self sufficiency, and integration with the community at large.
family and community services and economic development - irco's culturally specific anti-poverty, domestic violence services, financial literacy, family mediation, and africa house programs help families and communities become healthy, self-sufficient, and integrated.
