Programs: The invictus initiative coordinated skills and resources of volunteers into various community-driven initiatives in a total of four continents around the world. Measuring impact of past projects, assessing long-term community needs, and working with community members to initiate sustainable solutions to previously identified community needs, the organization successfully developed relationships with community partners and was able to empower and transform lives through several initiatives including: worked with a favela community in brazil to setup food security through the implementation of an aquaponics food system, which sustainably produces nutrient-rich vegetables for consumption. Helped combat the zika virus in rio de janeiro by working with medical professionals to identify and empower pregnant mothers and their families with anti-zika kits. Worked with communities in nicaragua to initiate community-driven arsenic water filtration systems and health education workshops, delivered clean water to 1,100 people for the next ten years. Helped setup a community midwifery education program that is teaching rural villagers how to safely facilitate home births. Worked with community educators to initiate a summer camp for children with programing that aids in instilling important life values. Worked with communities in southern india to identify and develop new curriculum programming for primary and secondary education in science and english. Worked with those affected by the 7. 8 earthquake in nepal, built new relationships, and initiated several community-driven projects in the areas of engineering, business, education, and health. Brought together over twenty women living in tent camps from various castes to create the first bhaktapur women's business group, taught financial education and product develoment workshops, and initiated microfinancing initiatives in the area for the develoment of several entrepreneurial initiatives. Worked with colorado engineering schools to create a sustainable way to grow food in developing countries via a compact aquaponics system kit and new fish feed creation system that will empower community members to inexpensively produce fish feed for aquaculture. Directed the skills and resources of young adults and working professionals in america via our university partnerships and international humanitarian trips changing their perspectives on their identity and purpose in the process, and made the world a better place.
