The ISB (www.ISBworldoffice.com) is the principal organization for those who teach, study, play, repair, build and enjoy the double bass. Jazzers, classical players, composers, teachers, bass makers and makers and dealers in accessories and amps, and fans are all members. One of my mentors, Milt Hinton himself recruited me to join in the early 80s. I joined the Board of Directors in 2011 with great pride and continue to serve. The biennial convention (www.ISBConvention.com) is the place where maybe 1,000 bassists from all over the world meet to play, update and exchange information and "Bass Love". A great organization, run by bassists for bassists.
