Mission: The mission of international society for infectious diseases is to support health professionals, non-government organizations, and governments around the world in their work to prevent, investigate and manage infectious disease outbreaks when they occur, particularly in countries that have limited resources and which disproportionately bear the burden of infectious diseases.
Programs: To increase knowledge base of infectious disease through research and training and to enhance professional development of individuals in this discipline. Scientific exchange fellowship program is intended to allow scientists from developing countries to update their knowledge of new techniques & skills in the field of infectious diseases. The small grants program is intended to foster development of young infectious disease professionals in the developing world.
