Mission: The iscb provides information on computational biology by organizing meetings, providing access to high quality publications, serves as a portal for information about training, education, employment and news from related fields and addressing scientific policies
Programs: The iscb organizes the intelligent systems for molecular biology (ismb), rsg, ngs, iscb-africa, iscb-asia, iscb-latin america conferences, special interest group(sig)meetings, and satellite meetings to attract the top research contributions in all areas of computational molecular biology.
the iscb has three official journals, "bioinformatics","computational biology-public library of service, and "iscb community journal-f1000 research" which have the highest impact on mathematical and computational biology category, and has affiliations in place with several other publications for the benefit of members.
the iscb provides a website to allow members to network and communicate, to search job postings and to provide other career resources, to search online courses, to search degree and certificate programs for computational biology and to inform about affiliateorganizations.
iscb provides three awards: the "overton prize" for an early career scientist, the "accomplishment by a senior scientist award" that recognizes highly significant, long term career achievement and iscb "innovator award to mid-career scientist" for contributions to science. Additionally, we give travel fellowships to students and post docs.
