Programs: A. The international relations council (irc), a member of the world affairs council of america, a national organization with affiliates in 94 cities. Irc is the kansas city metropolitan regions premier provider of international affairs programming. Irc is a 58 year old non-profit organization which sponsors quality international education and programs to foster individual understanding of international affairs and issues. B) since its founding, irc has hosted morethan 900 community programs with a total audience count of morethan 130,000 which have addressed world affairs issues and encouraged public particiaption in international policy making. C) irc is actively involved in promoting international education for the greater kansas city area's k-12 schools populations. The eliot s. Berkley award recognizes superior achievement by a highschool junior or senior each year. Academic world quest is a high school team competition which irc has sponsored since 2006. It is a flagship program of the world affairs councils of america and the winning team represents kansas city in the national competition. D) irc also promotes dialogue and education on international issues by fostering the establishment of great decisions discussion groups, a program of the foreign policy association.
