Mission: The ilf promotes the civic awareness, involvement & effectiveness of asian pacific americans (apa). The public affairs fellowship program provides future asian american leaders with a practical understanding of how our government works.
Programs: Leadership and business conference, awards gala and educational program: the ilf has a network of national advisory boards and global advisory councils in 15 cities, comprised of professional, civic, business and community leaders. Each year, ilf hosts a series of educational events for over one hundred advisors which are comprised of various seminars, tours, policy discussions, and meetings with members of congress and other high-ranking officials. The ilf also hosts a leadership and business conference which includes a global strategic economic forum, business to business matchmaking and the ilfs annual scholarship and awards gala to recognize exemplary contributions to the apa community. It promotes and educates the apa community to get involved in mainstream activities and also prepares the young generation to become leaders in the public, business, academic, community and professional arenas.

Its mission is to develop young leaders in the united states and other pacific rim countries in the fields of public service, entrepreneurship and the international arena through a network of business and community leaders. The washington civic fellowship is a civic leadership development program. Each fellow participates in a supervised training program, including a public service internship to learn about public policy and how to network and access government to help the community. The ilf awards fellowships yearly for students to spend several weeks interning in government agencies in washington, dc.
international young ambassador program and exchange program: the ilf fosters the next generation of international young leaders to address global business and political issues in our changing world. The young ambassador program hosts outstanding college students and young professionals from asia to network with ilf fellows and participate in a unique training program in washington d. C. And the northeast region. The international exchange program also coordinates the u. S. Public policy and business delegation to visit asia for the purpose of promoting leadership development and better international understanding in asia and other pacific-rim countries.
