Mission: IVN was founded in 1998 to provide a caring response to situations where residents of Sauk County need temporary or supplemental volunteer support - especially residents who are frail, disabled, ill, isolated, or for whom existing services and support systems fall short. This program is faithfully served by more than 100 volunteers who gain experience and fulfillment by helping others. Services provided include transportation, respite care (incl. for people with Alzheimer's), companionship, advocacy, referral, temporary child care, pet care, and assistance with chores, errands, and minor home repair. IVN also operates an Alzheimer's support group and assists in providing education and training to Alzheimer's caregivers. Our overall mission is to mobilize volunteer resources in Sauk County for the benefit of the community, its residents, and the volunteers. We are an interfaith organization because many local faith communities have joined to support our efforts, believing that volunteering is one important way in which people can put their faith into action. All people may serve or be served regardless of faith or lack thereof. No evangelizing is permitted. IVN is supported by grants and contributions. It is led by a volunteer Board of Directors representing local faith communities, service organizations, businesses, and the community at large. Additional contributions and volunteers are essential to our mission, and are always welcome!
