Mission: MISSION STATEMENT -- The mission of Interfaith Community Housing of Delaware is to act as a catalyst to revitalize and strengthen neighborhoods by providing sustainable housing and homeownership services that support low and moderate income households, empower residents for leadership, and promote individual and community asset building.
Programs: Homebuyer & financial education and couseling - through our homeownership center, interfaith community housing served over 883 families/households in our homebuyer and financial education and counseling, credit, and default prevention programs state-wide. These included 375 in our educational seminar program, generating 134 successful first-time homebuyers. Another 114 households participated in our foreclosure mitigation program, with 53 homes saved.
property asset management - interfaith community housing managed, directly and through two third-party companies, a total of 323 affordable rental units in wilmington, claymont, new castle, and milford.
residential real estate development - interfaith community housing completed construction of one (1) rehabbed homeownership unit in the city of wilmington, as part of its national stabilization program to revitalize areas hard-hit by foreclosures. We completed construction of one (1) unit developed in conjuction with new castle county in the dunleith community in new castle. In addition we completed two (2) rehabbed homeownership units in new castle county. We sold a total of 13 units to low and/or moderate income buyers during the year.
