The "Instituto", with more than 50 years of history in the City of Houston, every day brings more value to the Hispanic Culture. The agenda of events is very diverse and you can see that the activities they promote are very innovative for the current times. In addition many of its events are free and others are accessible to the general public.
Bravo for its´creative iniciative!!!

A wonderful grassroots organization that does what they say and brings the culture, language, and history to all Hispanic people in the Houston area. I can’t recommend them enough, they put their money behind students and events that bring culture and life to this city!

Houston Medical Imaging has been proud to support this great institution for the past 10 years. We see the results of hard work, appreciate the responsible stewardship and look forward in seeing the institute grow and prosper under dedicated and talented leadership.

We are most excited about the scholarship program as it enters a more active phase of mentorship and guidance.

Personally, I serve on the board and will continue to support the institute in the future.

The Institute of Hispanic Culture Of Houston is an invaluable partner to the Hispanic community here in Houston. The Institute graciously supported my work as a Latina author and edupreneur by opening its doors and hosting the launch and presentation of my book at their beautiful space. I'm forever grateful for their support and for uplifting our community. The staff is incredibly helpful, kind, committed and passionate about their mission.

The Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston celebrates its 50th anniversary this year at its annual gala "Noche de las Americas" on October 16, 2015,. My husband, a neurosurgeon, joined other professional and business men and women in forming a cultural organization whose mission is to present and disseminate Hispanic Culture and promote cultural exchanges between the community and the people of the Hispanic world. This has been accomplished through thousands of lectures, films, Spanish classes, musical and dance presentations, visual arts exhibits, culinary art gatherings, and the awarding of over $500,000. in scholarships to university students in Hispanic cultural and professional studies . In early October, beginning in1983, the annual "Dia de la Hispanidad" ( a music and dance program) is presented in Miller FREE Outdoor Theatre. The program has featured world renown Hispanic stars of music, theatre and cinema, including Mario Moreno"Cantinflas", Rocio Jurado, Pedro Vargas, Fichamba, and Marco Antonio Muniz, to name a few. For 31 years the folkloric dance of the Hispanic countries of the world is part of that professional program. Over 5,000 people attend this colorful and culturally rich program each year. I have personally been involved as a volunteer, a board member and as president of the Institute. The diverse population of Houston, especially the growing Hispanic population, which is now a majority in the city, needs to have knowledge and pride in its historical and cultural origins. The Institute of Hispanic Culture has continued to fulfill its mission and goals by presenting programs with educational, community and civic organizations in Houston.
